  • Exercising regularly helps strengthen your immune system, this probably is the reason you may not fall sick frequently. Even if you become you may recover faster than others who do not exercise.

  • Maintaining an exercise regimen can be very useful in the long run as it also helps in preventing strokes. Being inactive can put you at risk for a stroke when compared to those who exercise regularly.
  • When you exercise you breath freely that will boost lung function and that in turn helps you fight off respiratory infections.
  • Exercising regularly also helps reduce stress. Taking extreme stress can be very harmful for the health as stress causes the release of a hormone called cortical that shrinks brain. Reduces levels of neurotransmitters, especially serotonin and dopamine. Increases the size of the amygdala, an area in your brain associated with emotional activity. Puts you at risk for mental disorders such as anxiety and panic disorders, depression, PTSD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, drug addiction and alcoholism. If the body and brain is continuously exposed to chronic stress, immune system stays in low gear and this makes us more susceptible to getting sick. Take up exercise as it can save you from serious complications.
  • While exercise is very effective to keep sickness away, but take care to not overdo it as it can exhaust you causing fatigue and your blood pressure also drops due to loss of fluids through sweat while doing intense exercise. High intensity exercises can sometimes prove to be dangerous. Take up moderate exercise or simple exercises like jogging, running, cycling, swimming and tree climbing are all good exercises that will not harm your body.
  • Regular exercise helps reduce your chances of developing heart disease. It also keeps your bones healthy and strong.
  • When you indulge in exercise your body temperature rises for a short time during and right after exercise, this is body’s way of preventing bacteria from growing.

Exercise definitely helps reduce onset of  sickness, so take up moderate exercise when you are feeling sick it’ll boost your immunity and speed up your recovery, and remember don’t be hard on your body. Do light exercises you’ll definitely feel much better.
